FAQ

Common Campus Bell questions.

Answers for school administrators, IT staff, and operators.

Does Campus Bell replace my existing PA system?

No. Campus Bell can feed an appropriate input on an existing amplifier or PA. Confirm the connection and levels with the PA manufacturer or qualified installer.

Does Campus Bell require Internet access?

Core schedules run on the local Windows server and local school network. Internet access is required for checkout, initial license activation, periodic license validation, and update checks.

Does the Admin browser have to stay open?

No. The server and supervised Windows audio host run independently of the Admin browser.

What happens if the computer restarts?

The installed server, watchdog, tray, and audio host are configured to start with Windows. After maintenance or an unexpected restart, verify Dashboard and audio status before relying on the next bell.

Can I use my own bell sounds?

Yes. The Audio Library supports approved WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, and OGG files. Test every file through the intended output before scheduling it.

Can different schedules run on different days?

Yes. Create reusable Day Schedules, assign them by weekday in Calendar, and use date exceptions for minimum days, assemblies, holidays, No Bells, and temporary changes.

What happens if a scheduled bell is missed?

Campus Bell does not replay a past bell automatically as if it occurred on time. Check Audit Log, the active Calendar assignment, clock and time zone, event state, audio status, and schedule validation.

Where is school data stored?

Schedules, settings, and media are stored on the local Campus Bell server. Use Full Backup in Settings and keep an approved copy outside the server computer.

How is Campus Bell licensed?

One public subscription includes complete feature access. A 14-day trial begins through secure checkout with a card; the delivered key activates a specific installation.

How do I get support?

Run Support Diagnostics in Settings, note the Support ID and app version, then send the symptoms, time of occurrence, Windows version, and troubleshooting already attempted through the support form.

Is Campus Bell a fire alarm?

No. Campus Bell supplements approved procedures and systems. It is not represented as a certified fire alarm or a replacement for required life-safety equipment.
